Hello to all from your Interbay Golf Club team! Thank you for being a part of the Interbay Golf Club – we’ve had another great season of golf and fun! Here’s what’s happening with the club and the course – please contact us with any questions or comments!
Last Thursday we held our annual Membership Appreciation event, and had a great time meeting up with other club members! We had some laughs, drinks and yummy snacks (thanks Kael and the Hilltop Ale House crew!), raffled off some Interbay swag, and shared some club updates. Read on for what we shared – we look forward to seeing you on the course and at our next event!
Membership
- We have over 700 members this year (705 to be exact, 415 Men and 290 Women). This is one of the largest memberships in the state, and the largest by far for a “short course”!
- Check out what the USGA posted on Instagram about Interbay – we’ve had the most scores posted for any short course in the nation!
- Reminder: your membership runs through the end of the year, and then will need to be renewed for 2025. We will send out more info soon on where and how to do this, and hope to have you back as a member next year!
League wrap-up
- We had a great year of league play this year for both the Men’s and Women’s leagues – whether you’re in it to win it or just having fun playing (hopefully both), thanks to all for participating!
- Congratulations to our 2024 Club Champs
- Men’s Gross Stroke Play*: Roger Hanson
- Men’s Net Stroke Play: Miles Schlosser
- Men’s Gross Match Play*: Sean Brill
- Men’s Net Match Play: Miles Schlosser
- Women’s Gross Stroke Play*: Samantha Cristiani
- Women’s Net Stroke Play: Sarah Togawa
* = invite to WA Golf Champion of Champions tournament in 2025
- We’re always evolving the way we structure our leagues, and are looking forward to improving for 2025. If you want to get involved, see the link to volunteer opportunities below, or send us an email at leagues@interbaygolf.club
Volunteer Opportunities
- There are a ton of different ways to get involved with the club, and we want/need your help!
- Click here to learn more about how you can volunteer!
Club Financials
- Our balance sheet is strong, and we’re working on our 2025 proposed budget updates
- Our biggest expense is Golf Genius, which we use to manage our leagues and communicate with you. We’re planning on continuing with this next year.
Club Bylaws Update Proposal
- At our last Board meeting, a proposal was made to amend our club bylaws to include a new “Director-at-Large” role. This will benefit the club in the following ways:
- Add a fifth member to the board, which will help avoid any potential split votes.
- Increase our ability to assign special projects and tasks to the director to help drive improvements to the club.
- Please click here to view the full proposal and text of bylaw change, and submit your vote. Your participation and vote is important, so thanks in advance!
Course Updates
- We are working with WA Golf and USGA to review existing slope + rating based on scores posted this year to determine if any updates/adjustments are warranted after end of posting season
- Our fall aerification has completed, and the greens are happily growing back with the sun and rain.
- We received some positive reviews on how the course has been playing recently, and are happy that the Seattle Parks team that maintains the course has really helped improve the course conditions.
- We are always interested in your feedback on the course conditions. Please take a couple of minutes now to fill out our survey – 1 random participant will win a prize!
Pro Shop Updates
- If you are already participating in our Halloween Scramble this Saturday 10/26, it’s sure to be a spooktacular time. If you’re interested, please contact the Pro Shop asap!
- Men’s and Women’s Top Tracer Leagues registration is open now and can be made either online via the website (Men / Women) or in the pro shop. More info below – this is a great opportunity to keep swinging and have fun through the winter!
Remember: Posting season goes through Nov 15 so please keep posting your scores to GHIN!
